(shuh∙hair∙uh∙zod)

I've been working in Early Childhood Education since 2016. My primary professional work has been as a preschool classroom teacher, working with children between 2-6. I do have experience working with infants and elementary age children as well.

I have experience leading gardening classes, art workshops, sewing, and cooking lessons for children. If I had to pick, coaching early writing skills is my favorite type of academic support to provide. I hope to make a page early literacy tips and exercises on my site soon! I enjoy illustrating and am currently drafting a few children's book ideas. I studied horticulture before my switch to ECE. Don't bring me on a hike unless you want to get an earful about all of the native (and invasive) plants.

I've worked in Montessori, Emergent Curriculum, and Waldorf influenced classrooms and the truth is... different approaches work best for different children!

I am grateful experiencing this buffet of frameworks firsthand. I'd describe my own approach briefly as child-led exploration with adult scaffolding as needed (or as enrichment atop the child's curiosity.)

Cultural competency matters deeply to me. I want all families I work with to feel seen and respected in their identities. I am a first gen Iranian-American. I'm fluent in English and Farsi, and am gradually learning Spanish. I volunteered with Rainbow Community Center + The Pacific Center between 2013 and 2021.

It doesn't hit you until you leave how diverse the bay is! So blessed to have grown up here.

Favorite environment: I love being in a dense old growth forest, filled with ferns, mushrooms, moss, and all the good stuff. I love how cluttered and alive everything feels there.
